School Party

Wade had a blast at his school bday party! The pics turned out great! We ended up going to church last night and took a cake with us. Everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to Wade. I think all in all, he had a great first birthday. We're all looking forward to Saturday!

Happy Birthday Wade!

Today is my baby's first birthday! I can hardly believe it. I know, I sound like one of those people who always tell you how time flies, but it really does. John and I sang "Happy Birthday" to Wade a few times this morning. I'm sure he was thinking what's this new song you keep singing to me? Wade took cupcakes and juice boxes to school today to share with his classmates. I left my camera with his teacher to take plenty of pics. John and I got a surprising gift from Wade yesterday. I was going through his bag from school and found a picture he drew for us...his very first! I got all teary eyed and ran to the living room to show Mom, aka Granna, and John. It is now proudly displayed on our refrigerator. I will cherish it forever! I'm off Friday for final party prep. Word on the street is Elmo may be stopping by on Saturday to see the birthday boy!

Bday Invites

Wade's birthday invitations turned out so cute!! Next year, I might try to make them myself. Update on the new daycare...he LOVES it!!!! Honestly, it's like he's a different baby. He's so happy in the evenings when we pick him up and he doesn't cry when I leave him in the mornings. Such a relief!! I got a call this morning from my cousin RSVPing for the party. She told me I should feel a sense of accomplishment because Wade had made it to a year and I hadn't broken him. I told her not to jinx it...he'll be a year on Wednesday!

Bon Jovi!!!

I just bought tickets for John and me to see Bon Jovi on March 16 in Greensboro!!! I am so freaking excited I can't stand it! Daughtry is opening for him which makes it even better! The 16th is a Sunday so we'll spend the night and come back Monday. I mean, if you know me at all, you gotta know I love me some Bon Jovi. Seeing him was on my bucket list so I'll be able to cross that off soon because, Whoa, I'm half way there. Whoa, livin' on a prayer. Take my hand, we'll make it I swear...Yea!!!!!!

Big Week

Lots going on here...

Wade took his first step this weekend and has done so a few more times since then! I have yet to capture it on video, but will keep trying.

He started a new daycare on Tuesday. (Would have been Monday, but was out sick with an ear infection.) He now goes to First Baptist and I think we're all going to like it a lot.

Finally, still making preparations for the big bday party. It's going to be Feb. 2 at Oakey Swamp Baptist's fellowship hall from 12-2pm. I've never planned a party around a nap schedule before!

Wade's Party

The theme for Wade's party is going to be Sesame Street. The plates, napkins, cups, etc. all have baby elmo, big bird and cookie monster on them. I have been shopping like mad on Ebay for the past few days. Wade won't remember a thing, but I'll be sure to have plenty of pics to show him how hard Mom worked! We're going to try to get a puppet show together for the kids. My dad is making a big Elmo head with a hole for the mouth. The kids can throw bean bags through the hole. Cute, right? I found a cake at Walmart that I love!! It's a big Elmo head, but it was a bunch of cupcakes all pushed together. I'm going to make Wade his own cake. I think white icing will go over much better than the red. Only 22 days until Wade's bday and 25 until the party!
